When you're a producer, writer, teacher, ambassador, blogger, interior designer, calligraphist and spiritual entrepreneur a versatile wardrobe is a must; so needless to say we were delighted to spend the afternoon playing dress-up with one of our most inspiring friends, the beautiful Jane Fuller. This spiritual entrepreneur was a true ray of light on a freezing December afternoon in London and we are delighted to share Jane's top Shimmy styling tips, career highlights and her winning positive mindset with our Shimmy community. Enjoy!

How would you describe your everyday style?

Depending what I’m doing that day but usually stylish, casual, individual, comfortable. I have a wardrobe that works for most events, however if I’m not comfortable it’s difficult to relax into dressing elegantly. The sense of feeling good is crucial for me; without it, even a beautifully chosen wardrobe is lacking. To quote Diana Vreeland ‘The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from it.’

What role does fashion play in your everyday life?

I love fashion – my mother had great style and so I grew up with the ethos that even at the airport you’re on parade………. I naturally understood that image was important and that pride in yourself and the way you look does not convey or cover-up any deficiency. It’s smart to care and clothes are a part of the deal. Clothes reflect how you feel about yourself. So much is communicated by what we wear. I also think you learn about fashion, design, quality and style from great designers. However, I also believe that a healthy, fit body is the best fashion statement.

We love how you have styled the black lace Shimmy with your little black dress. Why do you think the Shimmy is a wardrobe must-have for the festive season?

For me black lace and red lipstick are such a glam and festive combination – I have always managed to evolve different interpretations on the same theme over time. However now the shimmy has helped me navigate this brilliantly with it’s fantastic versatility. I think the shimmy will become essential to every woman’s wardrobe – it opens up so many possibilities.

Which Shimmy is your favourite and why?

I love the blush pink but I think the black lace shimmy is what I will wear the most at the moment. It suits my style. The quality of Jacquard Lace Shimmy is so beautiful – that it really does complement my arms, outfit and style. I wore it the other day with a lace camisole and black trousers and a fine knit gilet - it looked sensational for day and it took me on to an evening event too.

What is your top tip for styling your Shimmy?

Experiment. The shimmy is so versatile that you’ll be surprised at how many outfits you can create from just one shimmy with your current wardrobe – I’ve only just begun and I’ve created several - wonderful for travelling light too!

From producing film and TV to becoming a spiritual entrepreneur, you have had such an inspiring and varied career. What are some of your highlights so far?

Wow – that’s difficult to say as there have been many. From starting my own film production company with one phone and a chair to going on to win over 50 awards for our work including BAFTA’s and the Grand Prix at Cannes………… I think creating multi-award winning work with so many amazing, talented people and travelling around the world to do so…….. To then continue evolving by becoming a Licensed Leader and Teacher of the Heal Your Life programme based on the philosophy of metaphysical teacher Louise L. Hay and my own life experience. I have always been fascinated by the mind/body connection and I truly believe that mindset is key, because when you master your mind you master your life. Why is this not taught in schools?! I would like to bring this into education.

What are some of the life lessons you have learnt along the way?

Well we all teach what we need to learn, but I truly believe this life is an inside job – we have everything we need we just need to be aware of it. If you change your vibrational energy you can change your life. We are still taught today that the world view is based on fear not love. Once we unlearn this and to trust and believe we will be guided, it changes everything. Ask, take action, trust and believe you will be guided and then receive!

I’ve learnt that meditation helps to tap into this energy force and stops the mind chatter and allows you to feel at peace with the world. Also gratitude, affirmations and visualizations truly help to keep a positive mindset – it requires practice everyday but it is so worth it! Now science has finally caught up with the theory. When you invest in yourself – you invest in your future. So I eat nourishing primal foods and exercise to keep my body and mind fit and healthy. Whatever you do – be kind. Love really is the answer.

Have you always had such a positive outlook on life or is that something you have learnt along the way?

I was born with an optimistic outlook on life and growing up I was taught to be independent, resourceful and adventurous – but I didn’t fully realize until my 50’s, that we can train our minds to consciously create a fantastic future for ourselves. The better you feel, the more aligned you are vibrationally to the things you desire. Having a vibration of success is knowing you are already free, powerful, good and loved. Having a strong sense of value, purpose and connection with life, giving and being of service to others – the Universe will respond by supporting your expanding vibration. By maintaining this vibration and prioritizing feeling good, you will attract all the success you could ever want in your life!

What's next for Jane?

Finish writing my book; give a Ted Talk; make a film based on my book; webinars and workshops teaching my philosophy on the importance of mindset. My mission is to empower people to live their best lives and teach them the skills to do so. I want to raise the consciousness of the planet…………..small stuff.
